mirror work

This ongoing project began with learning the traditional craft of ayeneh-kari (Persian mirror work) directly from master craftsmen in Iran. Historically practiced with hand-cut mirrors set into plaster, the technique has long been associated with architecture and ornamentation. Building on this heritage, I am exploring new ways of working with mirrors through contemporary fabrication methods—using CNC milling, 3D printing, resin casting, and mold-making to develop alternative material expressions and techniques. The work moves between tradition and innovation, creating pieces that are at once rooted in cultural history and open to new forms of making. Private commissions have included mirror work for furniture, wall finishes in residential projects, and large-scale installations for diverse venues.
