NDF-297

Danika Oystrek’s project, NDF-297, explores the Ukrainian Rushnyk—a sacred embroidered cloth—as a site for cultural reconstruction, where symbolism, ritual, and ancestral ties to nature reveal connections between labor, gender, and identity; drawing from Tarkovsky’s films, vernacular architecture, and textile-making processes, her work critiques modern detachment from craft and reclaims Ukrainian identity through heritage, material practices, and shared cultural memory.
