Goli Jalali is an architectural designer, educator, and structural engineer whose practice bridges art, engineering, and architecture through storytelling and surface interaction. Her work spans drawings, buildings, textiles, installations, and digital media, reflecting a deep engagement with the interplay of physical and conceptual forms.

Goli’s professional experience spans Tehran, London, Berlin, Boston, and Vancouver. As a structural engineer consultant for Zaha Hadid Architects, she worked on the KAFD Metro Station in Riyadh, a project that shaped her interest in architectural depth and surface design. Her practice, x.y.gj, explores depth as a dimension of imagination, integrating architecture, art, and engineering.

She holds a degree in Structural Engineering from UBC in Vancouver, an MSc in Emergent Technologies and Design from the Architectural Association in London, and a Master of Architecture from Harvard GSD. Goli has taught design studios at UBC’s School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and at the Architectural Association in London.
